Yoga Wellness Weekend: A Personalized Approach
Monique Parker
Thursday, July 30th- Sunday, August 2nd, 2015

Monique Parker is a senior teacher in the Svastha Yoga worldwide organization. Before opening Taos Yoga Therapy, she founded Svastha Yoga Institute, the U.S.-affiliate school of Svastha Yoga and Ayurveda in Chennai, India, where she currently serves as director. Previously, Monique co-founded and directed the Yoga Teacher Certification Program at the University of New Mexico-Taos.

Synthesizing the fundamentals of asana, yoga psychology, pranayama, mantra, and chant for students across the US, Monique specializes in continuing education, individualized instruction, and the adaptation of classic yoga for therapeutic application. She is the creator of “The Yoga of Mantra”, a call and response Sanskrit chanting CD. Each year she conducts a 200-hour Svastha Yoga Teacher Training Certification in Taos, New Mexico and facilitates a Svastha Yoga Wellness Retreat at The Mandala Center in Des Moines,New Mexico.

Thirteen years ago, Monique walked away from a lucrative high tech career and moved to a pinion forest at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico, where she dedicates herself to study, teaching, and service.

Join Monique Parker as she leads you step-by-step into a journey of personal transformation using the ancient and practical tools of yoga. Everyone needs the time to unplug from the stress of daily life to delve deeper into spiritual practice.

Through breath-centered mindful asana classes, Vedic chanting, meditation, and guided exercises and discussions about the philosophical roots of yoga psychology, you learn how to live a more authentic, happy and healthy life.

The Mandala Center is the perfect sanctuary for Monique’s annual summer retreat, providing both refuge and comfort for those longing for a place to re-discover our innate wisdom and reawaken the heart.

This weekend with Monique includes periods of silence as well as the safety and support of interpersonal sharing. Discover for yourself the value of mantra japa meditation and yoga as exercise for relieving emotional stress and negative thinking and helping you to experience a stronger, more flexible, healthy body.

Utter delight! The Center's intention and Monique's intention were both delivered beautifully to our group. It was a gentle and exquisite experience of growth. Thank you! - Nancy

Monique is a wonderful teacher on all levels and a dear, heartfelt example of love, personal growth, and truth as she knows it. - Debby

Yoga builds better health and better relationships and has done wonders for me! I wasn’t looking for anything when I stumbled into yoga about a year ago, but I thought I’d give it a try for a couple of months. I soon noticed positive changes in my life, and I couldn’t attribute them to anything other than yoga. I have always been an athletic guy, but yoga has improved my "game" and every day function more than any other conditioning. Our sessions with Monique Parker at The Mandala Center in August, 2013, created an atmosphere that made it possible to share with the other participants, and thus build better relationships and better health. If you are over 50 and you aren’t doing yoga, I would urge you to give it a try. Yoga has made my life a whole lot more pleasurable and I advocate it wherever I go! - Tommy, aged 76
